Daddy-O/Score-O
Grant Park, June 4, 2000
By Steve Barnhart
A beautiful sunny day greeted the 15 orienteers who ventured to Grant Park to participate in the in the Daddy O'/Score O' event. Twenty-two orienteering markers were scatter all over the park and the participants had one-hour to find as many markers as they could. Every marker found was worth one point. Minus one point was deducted for every minute late (rounded up). In case of a tie in points, the orienteers time was used to determine their placement in the rankings. Mike Minium was the undisputed champion. He was the only person to find all the control markers in less than one hour. Everyone had a great time. It was the perfect type of event to hold on a sunny June day, because it encouraged everyone to finish under an hour.

Special thanks for Karen Dennis and Dave Irving, who helped run the meet. And after a long and tiring day it's great to have individuals like Matt & Sharon Bond, Dennis and Dave Irving, & Jamie Woodburn retrieving all the controls.
