Hot and humid weather (90/90) welcomed the contenders. Thanks to the theft of the ice-water jug, red contestants had a very hot and dry course. Michael Johnson and Inge Pierce were both first timers. After completing the hardest part of the reds course, Steve Barnhart pulled out of the event due to heel blisters. Steve was confident that he would have beaten Mike’s winning time.
