The courses were left in place after the meet for the following day's Turkey Hunt. Competitors can compare their results with others who ran the same course the next day. Fairborn High School teams attended on Saturday.

The courses are graded in length and difficulty by color. The sequence from easiest to hardest is white, yellow, orange, and green. White, yellow, and orange are developmental courses with increasing levels of distance and navigational challenge. The green course is set at the expert navigational level. The red course is for veteran orienteers at the expert level. The blue course (when it is offered) is for elite orienteers. They are set at the same technical level as the green course but longer and with a greater percentage of climb.

The top 1/3 of finishers on a course (not counting OT's) should consider moving to the next higher course. Finishers with an OT or DNF should move to an easier course and master it (top 1/3) before moving higher. Competitors on the green course should be confident enough in their navigation to run the entire course.

Some teams were disqualified. The reason for the disqualifications were that the course was run in the reverse order (same reason on Saturday). The controls are not set to be run out of sequence or backwards and be appropriate for that course. When taken out of sequence or backwards controls can be easier or more difficult to locate due to the approach direction, and the leg from control to control does not offer the proper navigational choices and challenges for that course's level of expertise.

Wayne HS entered two cooperative teams on the green course. While this is allowed, cooperative teams on the green course do not factor into trophy standings. On the green course, only teams comprised of individuals count toward trophy standings.
