The day started out at 19-degrees and raining, which created icy roads. The temperature rose to 30-degrees, but the light rain/snow/sleet continued all day. After disappointing weather, this might be remembered as the ICE-O. On the bright side, a MVOC course completion record was set with zero DNF and only one OT. Dick Arnett promised not to forget his map reading glasses next time. There was fierce competition for the first, second, & third place Cold-O trophies. Anybody that did not receive their trophy may pick them up at our next meet, Valentine Hunt, at Twin Creek MetroPark on February 14th.

For the first time MVOC added a GPS course using a score format. GPS contestants were given only the control coordinates and a map of the park without the controls being marked. They received one point for each control found in two-hours and were penalized one point for every minute over the time limit. Rich swept the course to earn his first place trophy.
