MVOC Junior Orienteering Championships
March 11, 2005 - Woodland Trails Scout Camp
Weather: 25-35° & cloudy
Attendance: 55 in 42 groups
Thanks for meet assistance: Sharon Bond, David Williams, Mike Minium, and Larry Berna.
The courses were left in place after the meet for the following day's Shamrock Hunt. Competitors can compare their results with others who ran the same course the next day. Piqua High School NJROTC and Badin ROKS ran the same courses the following day in the Shamrock Hunt. Their results are included below for comparison only, and are marked with (SH) for Shamrock Hunt. Course conditions change from day to day, and their results are not considered for awards.
The top 1/3 of finishers on a course (not counting OT's) should consider moving to the next higher course. Finishers with an OT or DNF should move to an easier course and master it (top 1/3) before moving higher. Competitors on the green course should be confident enough in their navigation to run the entire course.
In determining trophy recipients, some times greater than 120 minutes are included in the calculations. Although in standard MVOC meets, 120 minutes is the overtime cutoff, for championship events a time up to 180 minutes is allowed. A careful reading of the rules reveals this.
