18 groups with 57 people came out on a rainy night to the annual MVOC Night-O and potluck party. As usual, the first hour was the standard score style Night-O, with a potential 20 points. At the 1 hour mark, the horn blew again, turning it into the Search-And-Destroy-O, with extra points for bringing back in the controls. This year, one control was placed so deep in the dark green that it was worth 2 points for bringing it back in - but no one did! Until the intrepid Tom Wentling went out and earned his team another 2 points and the gratitude of both the meet director (Sharon Bond) and her husband (Matt, who would have gone out after it.) Many thanks also go to Tom and his O partner Bez for picking up 6 other controls, plus helping out with registration and getting things started on time.

The tiebreaker for teams with the same number of controls (punched and retrieved) was time. Times listed at 60:00 were those teams who ran up and handed in their cards as we were headed out to blow the horn at the 1 hour mark and start the Search-And-Destroy O.
