Cricket Holler Night-O and Search-And-Destroy-O, Dec 13, 2014
This year's night orienteering event was certainly memorable, at least for the meet director. First, we received an email from the Miami Valley Council that the K-Lodge was under construction and no one noticed the reserve we had put on it in the middle of the construction block. Next, we switched the location to camping lodge #1. Then on the day of the event, we found that a boy scout troop had been mistakenly given our cabin for the weekend. Luckily, cabin #3 was unlocked, or we might have been having a really cold event in the open air shelter. But everything worked out and we had 39 people come out for the event.
As always, the placings were decided by the grand total of all controls punched plus the number retrieved in the Search-And-Destroy-O portion. This year, there were 3 white control stands used, each worth a point. Tie breaker is the time to do the 1st hour event.
